IAFSSG has conducted its 1st All India conference cum Technical Seminar on 23 April 2010 at Clarks Exotica Hotel, Bengaluru, India. This was the first of its kind in India. Aviation Fire Safety specialist and experts from India and abroad participated in the event. The one day event was exclusively organized on the subject of “Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting and Aviation Fire Safety” and aimed to update the members of IAFSSG and airport fire professionals and other fire service officers of mutual aid agencies on the new challenges and management of fast growing aviation fire safety concerns. The seminar examined various challenges before the fire fighters during rescue and firefighting, aircraft accidents, airport disasters. The seminar provided a single platform for Aviation Fire Safety Experts from all over India and abroad to exchange information on the subject.


The conference was inaugurated by the Chief Guest of the function, Mrs. Jija Madhavan Hari Singh, IPS, DGP-Civil Defence, Home Guards and Fire and Emergency Services, Govt. of Karnataka. Mr. Marcel Hungerbuehler, CEO of BIAL was the Guest of Honour and Mr. Cletus Packiam, Chief of Airport Emergency Services Changi group of Airports, Singapore was a special invitee on the occasion.

Technical Workshop

Two technical sessions accommodated seven papers submitted by eminent aviation firefighting professionals from India and abroad. Following Technical Papers were presented :-
The technical session was followed by a valedictory function. Mr. KK Pradeep, Member, State Disaster Management Authority, Govt. of Karnataka was the Chief Guest of the function. He shared his experience of first responders’ importance while

responding to disasters. Chief Guest distributed certificates to all delegates and Mr. HS Rawat, Chairman, IAFSSG gave away mementos to speakers, organisers and facilitators of the one day conference. The event was sponsored by M/s. Rosenbauer International AG and M/s. Analon IPS.

Cultural Programme & Bouquet Dinner

After the conclusion of the seminar, relaxation of delegates and guests were taken care of, by converting the conference hall into entertainment. Artists specialized in Indian Cultural Arts performed “Kathak” and “Bharathanatiam”. The inspired performance of the artists fascinated all delegates and guests. The cocktail party that followed was enjoyed by all the guests and participants turned the whole event into an unforgettable one.
